A
Black light or UV Light
is a lamp emitting electromagnetic radiation that is almost
exclusively
in the soft near ultraviolet range, and emits very little light.
The Black Light Gallery is home to a collection of Ultra Violet
paintings painted by myself over the last 14 years.
These paintings are extracted from the deep spaces that surround
all the places, moments and emotions of
my being. I like to think of them as adventurous, bright and
uplifting, bringing with them an avalanche of color
and fun.
Some of the paintings took a full English winter to complete
whilst others a bright and sunny weekend, and
every time bringing with them only joy and happiness. The idea I
had was to be able to share these images
with friends and what better than to paint them as big as I
could. The art is also well traveled, originating in
London in the United Kingdom some of the pieces traveling the
Psychedelic trance
circuit to Europe and now
South Africa, where they have been well accepted.
The Black Light Gallery was photographed by myself in Durban
South Africa with help from my two models Juliet
and Phumla, who have done the fine art
of perspective engineering to show off the true scale of the
images.
