It's 5am on a cloudy summer morning, great freight vessels travel the Mozambique current that flows southwards leading into the Agulhas current off the east cost of South Africa, where they come to rest in the still warm waters of the Indian ocean, and like great basking giants, glistening, warming themselves in shards of morning sunshine. These vessels will remain here for several days until clearance from the port captain to enter Durban harbor.
